      <link>https://revues.mshparisnord.fr/ethnographie/index.php?id=1644</link>
How to understand the dramaturgy of francophone sub-Saharan Africa through the prism of academic issues that such an approach implies? This article reflects on the way in which the history of theatre, as it was conceived, written and transmitted in France, has positioned itself vis-à-vis these dramaturgies and how it was necessary to affirm that these corpus could legitimately be objects of study in aesthetics. Conducted both from a critical and academic perspective, the aim is to highlight the mechanisms of marginalization that these bodies – and the studies that accompany them – have been confronted with. Through the notion of « francophonie » and its history, similar dynamics are observable in the field of performing arts institutions in France. They are exposed here and then followed by a focus on the positioning of the artists themselves. Finally, returning to the artistic gesture, and through a reading of the works, the article demonstrates that the experience of marginalisation and institutional racism has been turned around to become fertile ground for innovative stylistics with essential political stakes. </description>
