      <link>https://revues.mshparisnord.fr:443/cultureskairos/index.php?id=639</link>
The link between the artistic practice and a certain kind of commitment has always been present into hip-hop. It is also at the heart of the debates about the authenticity of the hip-hop practice and especially on its relationships with its merchandizing and the dominant culture. In Brazil, more precisely in the Northeastern region, hip-hop shows a militant dimension committed to the resolution of the problems encountered by the inhabitants of the so-called peripheries and favelas. Through an ethnographical narrative, this paper aims to explore the territorial and political dimensions of the hip-hop culture in Fortaleza (Ceará) and demonstrate how a musical practice can be a powerful tool for the rise of critical consciousness, action and emancipation. </description>
